CAVEANT CHRONICLE

The Caveant Chronicle is written by the PR team for cadets and parents.

Each month the team produce a new issue packed with: promotion news, puzzles, upcoming events and news articles written by the team in the Squadrons ICT suite.

Head of the team and editor of the Chronicle is CI James Yeo, who has a degree in public relations and over 5 years experience with PR in the Air Training Corps.

James, 21, said: "We wanted to keep the parents and cadets informed of everything that the unit does and the best way to do that ,we decided, was in the form of a newsletter. The team don't have any formal writing qualifications and I think that always sounds best in a newsletter of this type. If I was to edit the articles and change their style to compete with journalism standards, it would erase the personality and feeling that the cadets put into their writing."

The team have periodic training sessions to brush up on their skills and meet once a week to work on the content of the next issue.

The weekly sessions are ran by CPL Newby, who is training to take over the role of editor. She said "I was really excited when Mr Yeo told me I would be taking over the newsletter team, it is hard work setting deadlines and getting the issue out on time, but I enjoy the challenge."
