SUNDERLAND SQUADRON COMES OUT TOP
111 (Sunderland) Squadron has been awarded “Top Flight North Region Winners 2007” It was revealed this week.
10 Cadets flew around the world in October 2007 to raise money for the Royal Air Force Association and its annual campaign “Wings Appeal”. The appeal is used to generate the vital funds needed to facilitate Welfare Support to those members of the RAF Family that are in need.
The cadets raised over £250 for the appeal aswell as generating valuable publicity for RAFA and its fundraising efforts that go on behind the scenes.
Flight Lieutenant Peter Dixon, Commanding Officer of 111 Squadron said: “I am delighted that our entry has been judged the best in the whole of the North, the cadets worked really hard to raise the money and they deserve the credit”.
The cadets are now working hard to come up with ideas to beat their total raised for this years appeal.
