CADETS HIT THE RIGHT NOTE FOR CHARITY

111 Sunderland squadron band were recently invited to perform at a major local charity concert.
The night was organised to raise money for the Grace House appeal, a local children’s hospice. The event was attended by many local dignitaries and took place at Sunderland Minster.
The band played along side the Sunderland Youth orchestra before taking centre stage for the night’s finale. Hundreds of balloons containing lights were then released into the sky as the band played.
Drum Major Emma Hopkinson said: “It was a really special night for the whole band, everyone enjoyed it. The organisers even had to notify Newcastle Airport about the balloons because they were so bright.”
